End Credits | Sick Joke - At EastWest Studio Two
Description written by composer, Eric Huang:
“Sick Joke (@sickjokefilm) is a short film written and directed by Jeff Peepgrass (@crisp_and_clean) and produced by Katie Jordan (@katieejordan13) about a troubled standup comedian who struggles with his place in life when offered the opportunity of a lifetime.
Recorded at EastWest Studios (Studio Two) in Hollywood
Although this film is a comedy, Jeff, the director, and I decided early on that this film would be scored as a drama. I decided to explore jazz to go with the black-and-white aesthetic of the film and to create the backdrop to the story. From saxophones playing softly recorded up-close with clip-on mics to evoke nighttime to a fiery trumpet section to portray anxiety, writing for this ensemble gave a large expressive range.
